Azerbaijan-Italy ties mulled

Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has today met Under-Secretary of the Italian Foreign Ministry Marta Dassu and State Secretary for Economic Development Claudio De Vincenti.

During the meeting, they discussed various directions of relations between Azerbaijan and Italy, latest developments in the South Caucasus and Middle East, as well as regional energy projects.
Mammadyarov said the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline project (TANAP) signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey was an important step in ensuring energy security of Europe.

They noted the importance of increasing the number of business forums and reciprocal visits for development of economic ties and expansion of cooperation.
