Azerbaijan`s FM receives Iran's ambassador

Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has today met with outgoing Iranian ambassador Mahammad Bagir Bahrami. Addressing the meeting, the sides exchanged view on bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Iran.

Mr Mammadyarov noted that the detainment of two young Azerbaijan`s poets in Iran concerned the society. He also recalled Iran`s short and incomplete responses to the five notes sent by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry to Iran.

The minister demanded the organizing of meeting of the detained compatriots with the Azerbaijani consul in accordance with the international legislation, including Vienna Convention.
He also expressed hope that the steps, which will be taken by Iran on the relevant issue, will correspond to the spirit of mutual friendly relations between two neighbouring countries.
