EC President visits Alley of Martyrs

President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy has today visited the Alley of Martyrs to lay flowers at the graves of Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country`s independence and territorial integrity.

A guard of honor was lined up for the President of the European Council at the Alley of Martyrs.
Mr. Herman Van Rompuy also laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.

The national anthem of Azerbaijan and anthem of the European Union were performed.
The EC top official enjoyed panoramic view of the capital and was informed on redevelopment works in Baku.
