'Azerbaijani poets arrested in Iran should be released'

“The State Committee for Work with Diaspora and Diaspora organizations react to every step taken by Iran against Azerbaijan. One can see it in the news in the press”, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov told journalists. He said that Azerbaijan will not let any country intervene in its internal affairs: “At the same time, any problem that is faced by Azerbaijanis in the foreign country bothers Azerbaijan”.

Ibrahimov said that the issue on Azerbaijani poets imprisoned in Iran was the focus of attention: “May be, at times a great part of works are not illustrated by press. But it doesn’t mean that we put this question without attention. I consider that Azerbaijani poets imprisoned in Iran – Farid Huseyn and Shahriyar Hajizadeh are innocent and must be released in a short time”.
