Azerbaijani President sets up prize money for medal-winning athletes and their coaches at London Olympics

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed an Executive Order to set up prize money for the country`s medal-winning athletes and their coaches at forthcoming 30th London Summer Olympic Games.

Under the presidential Order, each Azerbaijani athlete who will win the Olympic gold will be awarded 400,000 manats, with his coach receiving 200,000 manats. Silver winners and their coaches will receive 200,000 manats and 100,000 manats respectively.

The Olympic athletes who will claim bronze will be given 100,000 manats, while their coaches will receive 50,000 manats. In another Executive Order, the President set up prize money for the country`s medal-winning athletes and their coaches at the 14th Summer Paralympic Games.

Under President Ilham Aliyev`s instructions, Paralympians who will climb on to the winner`s rostrum will be given 200,000 manats and their coaches 100,000 manats. The runners-up and their coaches will receive a money prize of 100,000 manats and 50,000 manats respectively. The bronze medal winners will get a 50,000 manat prize, with their coaches receiving 20,000 manats.
