Baku eyes prospects for Azerbaijan-Columbia relations

Speaker of Azerbaijan Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov has met Chairperson of the Columbian Senate`s second constitutional committee Alexandra Moreno Piraquive.

Asadov said Azerbaijan was interested in development of relations with Columbia. He noted reciprocal visits contribute to expansion of bilateral ties. The speaker highly appreciated the fact that the Columbian Senate has adopted a decision on recognition of the Khojaly genocide. “This shows that the justice would restore sooner or later.”

Asadov noted Alexandra Moreno Piraquive had been awarded with honored medal of the Milli Majlis and presented it to her.

For her part, Alexandra Moreno Piraquive said reciprocal visits contribute to development of relations between the two countries in all spheres. She said the decision adopted by the Columbian parliament reflects the reality.

They also discussed prospects for Azerbaijan-Columbia relations, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and other issues.
