The protracted and unsolved conflicts in the space of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization seriously impede the Organization’s development and expansion of cooperation, the Member of Parliament Ganira Pashayeva stated at the Forum of Non-Governmental Organizations held within the summit on 20th jubilee of BSEC.
According to her, it is necessary to solve the existent disputes to expand economic cooperation. “A member of the BSEC (Armenia) has occupied 20 percent of the territories of another BSEC member that is Azerbaijan. The aggressor continues to hold the territories under occupation. The historical-cultural, religious monuments at the occupied areas are destroyed. Armenia, thus, threatens stability and security in region, impedes large cooperation among BSEC member countries.
Mrs. Pashayeva stressed necessity of conducting the NGOs Forum and creation of its platform. “The non-governmental organizations should express protest against the policy of occupation and promote solution of the conflicts”, she emphasized.
