
According to Azerbaijan Embassy in Belgium, the 12th meeting of the EU-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Cooperation Committee (PCC) was held here on June 20-21. A delegation led by vice-speaker of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) Valeh Alasgarov attended the meeting.
The Azerbaijani delegation included deputy minister of Foreign Affairs Mahmud Mammadguluyev and employees of the Economic Development Ministry.
The meeting co-chaired by head of South Caucasus Representative of the EU –Azerbaijan PCC Milan Cabrnoch and Valeh Alasgarov was attended by Stefan Fule, EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood policy, Philippe Lefort, the European Union Special Representative (EUSR) for the South Caucasus and Roland Kobia, the ambassador and head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan.
The meeting featured discussions on development of the EU-Azerbaijan cooperation, boosting relationships, and peaceful resolution of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, and the EU role to the effect.
EU officials highly appreciated the reforms being implemented in Azerbaijan and the country`s contributions to boosting parliamentary cooperation within the Eastern Partnership Program and deepening relations in Black Sea region.
