19 June 2012 [09:48] - TODAY.AZ
The Milan Conservatory has hosted a concert to commemorate the Khojaly genocide. The concert was part of Italian professor Davide Gualtieri`s musical and dance project. Supported by Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Rome, the concert featured performances by the Milan Conservatory`s choir, Art Performing ensemble, and Orizon dance ensemble led by Azerbaijani choreograph Mais Nuriyev.

Opening the concert, Gualtieri said the event was dedicated to victims of the Azerbaijani town of Khojaly. He highlighted the town`s history, saying it was wiped out from the face of the earth in one night.

First secretary of the Azerbaijani Embassy Nigar Huseynova spoke of the history of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying the Khojaly genocide was one of the bloodiest pages in the conflict.

She said hundreds of unarmed, innocent people were brutally killed by Armenians in one night.
“Neither women, nor children or old people were compassionated, and bodies of dead people were insulted. Many people are still missing.” Books and magazines on Azerbaijan were distributed among guests of the concert.
