
An international conference entitled “Minorities in Europe: the South Tyrol model and its relevance for the Caucasus” will be arranged in JW Marriot Absheron Baku Hotel on Wednesday.
The event will be co-organized by the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAM) and the Institute of International Affairs (IAI).
The conference will be attended by director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farhad Mammadov, deputy director of SAM Gulshan Pashayeva, Professor of Comparative Constitutional Law, Faculty of Law, University of Trento, Italy Roberto Toniatty, Professor, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia Mitja Žagar, Researcher, Doctoral School of Comparative and European Legal Studies, University of Trento, Italy Elizabetta Pulice, Researcher, Istituto Affari Internazionali, Italy Nona Mikhelidze and others.
The aim of the conference is to study different models of autonomy, to introduce them to Azerbaijani society, to discuss the application of some elements of these models in resolution of unsettled conflicts in Caucasus.
Participants will deliver reports and share views to the effect.
