
TurkPA has played a great role in strengthening the image of the Turkic-speaking countries, Azerbaijani Parliament's Speaker Ogtay Asadov said.
"Turkic-speaking countries have made great contribution to the world civilization, and they have repeatedly changed the course of history. And in today's world TurkPA plays an important role in strengthening the image of the Turkic-speaking countries," Asadov said at the third session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries in Bishkek on Friday, KyrTAG reports.
Asadov said that "despite the geographical distance, we still remain one people".
In his speech, Asadov spoke about the country's success. "Azerbaijan has become a leading country in the Transcaucasia. GDP grew by three times. Azerbaijan has attracted a lot of investments. Our currency reserve increased by more than 22 times, while the volume of foreign trade in the seven times," Asadov said.
"Regional integration among the Turkic-speaking countries is strengthened day by day. We are ready to cooperate. Huge economic projects are ahead," he concluded.
The Third Plenary Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries (TurkPA) began at Ala Archa state residence. Delegations from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, as well as Turkey participated in the plenary session. TurkPA includes Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkey.
