Azerbaijan, New Zealand mull coop

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received New Zealand's Ambassador to Russia Ian Hill who is also accredited in Azerbaijan, the Foreign Ministry told media Wednesday. Elmar Mammadyarov stressed the need for developing the relations between the two countries and the importance of cooperation within international organizations.

Ian Hill conveyed New Zealand’s Foreign Minister Murray McCully’s greetings to Mammadyarov and informed Azerbaijani Foreign Minister about foreign policy and economy of his country. While informing about the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, Mammadyarov said that Azerbaijan stands for resolving the conflict diplomatically. He stressed the importance of restoring the rights of Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs.

Azerbaijan’s activity in the UN Security Council and the prospects of cooperation between the two countries within international organizations were also discussed at the meeting.
