Azerbaijani FM , Int'l Court of Justice hold discussions

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met with International Court of Justice President Peter Tomka, the Foreign Ministry told Trend on Wednesday.

Tomka informed Mammadyarov abo?t the structureand jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice, about the cases, which are currently under consideration and the transformation carried out in the court system.

Tomka thanked Azerbaijan for the support of the Court. The Minister, in turn, noted that Azerbaijan as a democratic country with respect for the rule of law is a proponent of settling

international disputes and conflicts on the basis of international legal principles and standards, supports the activities of the International Court of Justice as a full member of the UN.

Other issues of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
