
Cooperation between Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia contributes to peace, stability and tranquility in the region, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said.
On Friday, the Turkish city of Trabzon hosted a trilateral meeting of foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia, press service of Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Trend.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister in his speech thanked the Turkish side for the warm welcome and hospitality.
Mammadyarov said that he attaches great importance to regional cooperation, and stressed the importance of the implementation by three countries of energy and infrastructure projects.
He noted Azerbaijan's contribution to regional cooperation, given the importance of the country from a transit point of view and proceeding from Azerbaijan's important role in peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan.
Speaking about the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, Mammadyarov stressed the importance of resolving the conflict solely on the basis of international law and principles.
He stressed that the annexationist policy undermines cooperation in the region, and noted that cooperation is impossible with the country, which carried out the ethnic cleansing and violated international legal norms.
Mammadyarov noted the existence of great potential for cooperation in several areas, including humanitarian and tourist spheres.
He said the cooperation between Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia contributes to peace, stability and tranquility in the region.
The Minister stressed that the good-neighborliness policy is Azerbaijan's aim.
