Azeri deputy FM holds meetings in Slovakia and Austria

Azerbaijan`s Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov has held a number of official meetings in Slovakia and Austria. In Slovakia, he met vice president of the Parliament Renata Smaikovic and deputy foreign minister Peter Burian.

During the meetings the sides discussed prospects for Azerbaijani-Slovak ties in the economic, cultural and humanitarian fields. They also exchanged views on development of the interparliamentary cooperation.

Smaikovic said Slovakia attached great importance to developing its relationship with Azerbaijan. She voiced support for the fair position of Azerbaijan in the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with Armenia.

Khalafov expressed confidence his visit would contribute to deepening and expanding the bilateral relations. Burian said Slovakia supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

The visit to Austria saw Khalafov have meetings at the parliament, as well as his counterpart Yohannes Korle. They discussed the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem, Europe`s energy security, and Middle East.
