07 June 2012 [16:42] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are the major Caspian partners, Kazakh Senate Chairman Kairat Mami on a visit to Baku told journalists today.

He stressed that there are good relations between the two countries.

It is necessary to increase the intensity of bilateral visits of the officials of both countries to develop these relations.

"The mutual visits of Azerbaijani and Kazakh officials can serve to develop bilateral relations," Mami said.

He said that in particular, the parliamentary relations play a major role in the relations between the two countries.

"We must try for the parliaments of two parliaments to adopt new laws and complement the already existing ones to develop bilateral relations," Mami said.

Chairman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Kairat Mami paid an official visit to Baku on Thursday.

The visit will run until June 9. Chairman of the Senate will meet with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Oktay Asadov and Prime Minister Artur Rasizade.

Issues of cooperation in the bilateral and multilateral formats, as well as the expansion of the legal framework for Azerbaijani-Kazakh cooperation, are to be discussed at the meetings.
