Azerbaijan, Turkey mull cooperation

Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pashayeva has met with governor-general of Amasia Jalil Oz on the sidelines of her visit to Turkey.

Azerbaijani MP thanked Mr. Oz in the meeting for the “Heart bridge, from Karabakh to Amasia: International Seyid Mir Hamza Nigari” symposium held in Amasia, dedicated to Seyid Mir Hamza Nigari who was born in Karabakh area but lived big part of his life in Amasia and played a great role in development of “Divan” literature.

Pashayeva underlined the necessity of these events for remembering the great poets as Mir Hamza Seyid Nigari by the youth.

Pashayeva also told about the importance of the symposium and reminded of the “One nation, two states” expression of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. Then, she quoted President Ilham Aliyev, “A Single Diaspora of One Nation-Two States”.

MP also has touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia and gave information on the Azerbaijan’s occupied lands by Armenian forces and the Armenian vandalism against Azerbaijanis.

Inn turn, Oz told about the brotherhood between the two countries and underlined that Amasiya is interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan and its regions.

The rector of Giresun University Aygun Attar, Rector of Amasia University Metin Orbay, Scientist of Institute of Philosophy and Political-Law Researches of Azerbaijan State Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Philosophy Rena Mirzazada, Professor of Istanbul University Ibrahim Yildirim, Chairman of “Miras” Cultural and Heritage Study Support Public Union, PhD in historical sciences Fariz Khalili and the head of Azerbaijan Women Journalists Association Sevil Yusifova also have attended the meeting with governor-general of Amasia and expressed their opinions on the international symposium and the cooperation between the two counties.

Pashayeva presented her own works, books and materials on Azerbaijan’s history, culture and realities to Jalil Oz.
