Book by academician Ramiz Mehdiyev presented in Kiev - PHOTOS

Presentation of the book titled “Goris-2010: Season of the Theater of the Absurd” by academician Ramiz Mehdiyev, Head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan was held in Ukraine’s capital Kiev.

The book has been released in English and Ukrainian and sponsored by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kiev. Director of the Institute, Professor Andrew Kudryachenko in his opening remarks praised the scientific value of the book of the famous Azerbaijani scientist.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Eynulla Madatli stressed that publication of this book was motivated by a desire to bring to the Ukrainian and English-speaking readers the whole truth about the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.

In his book, the diplomat spoke about the history of the Karabakh dispute, and unmasked the hackneyed myth that Armenians allegedly lived on the lands of Azerbaijan from ancient times. Mehdiyev draws readers’ attention to the fact that four UN Security Council resolution calling for the immediate withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from the occupied Azerbaijani territories and return of refugees and internally displaced persons to their homeland, have not yet been implemented.

Deputy Director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAM) Gulshan Pashayeva, Professor of the Institute of International Relations under the National Aviation University of Ukraine Arif Guliyev, Head of Foreign Policy Analysis Department of SAM Rovshan Ibragimov and other speakers also pointed out that the book of Azerbaijani academician is an in-depth scientific research.

Well-known writer, the publisher of the book Dmitri Burago said it is a honor for him to promote bringing the truth about the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh. All participants were presented with books.

The event was attended by diplomats, well-known Ukrainian historians, members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, political scientists, experts, representatives of the Congress of Azerbaijanis of Ukraine and journalists.
