Academician Arif Pashayev appraises awarding NAA of status of IATA regional training center - PHOTO - UPDATE

The Azerbaijan National Academy of Aviation of “Azerbaijan Airlines” CSC has been awarded with a certificate of the status of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) on “Air Transportation of Dangerous Goods”.

An event to the effect was held in Sheraton Baku Hotel on Wednesday. The ceremony was attended by president of “Azerbaijan Airlines” CSC Jahangir Asgarov, rector of the National Aviation Academy, academician Arif Pashayev, director of State Civil Aviation Administration Arif Mammadov, manager of IATA on Europe, Russia and CIS countries Daniel Shemi and area head of IATA on Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan Jordan Karamalakov.

A contract was signed on occasion of awarding the National Academy of Aviation (NAA) of certificate of the status of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) on “Air Transportation of Dangerous Goods”.

The contract was inked by Jahangir Asgarov, Arif Pashayev and Daniel Shemi. A certificate confirming the status of the IATA`s regional training center was presented to Arif Pashayev.

IATA is an international trade body, created over 60 years ago by a group of airlines. Today, IATA represents some 240 airlines comprising 84% of total air traffic. The organization also represents lead and serves the airline industry in general.

Awarding the National Academy of Aviation (NAA) of certificate of the status of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) on “Air Transportation of Dangerous Goods” is evidence to high level of education process in the Academy”, Academician Arif Pashayev, rector of the National Aviation Academy said at the ceremony of awarding the Academy of the said certificate confirming the status of the IATA’s regional training center.

Academician Pashayev noted that now and on the Azerbaijani specialists will acquire necessary professions in this Academy. “This is a big step. The most important problem in civil aviation is safety. And it needs permanent and durable work. Transportation of dangerous goods is of extreme significance. Serious and all-sided researches have to be carried out in this field. Our Academy will justify this trust”, Pashayev underlined.
