Azerbaijan develops new unified voters' list

There are 4,922,000 600 people in Azerbaijan, who have the right to vote, deputy chairman of Central Election Commission (CEC) Natig Mammadov said.

Today in Azerbaijan 4,922,000 600 people have the right to vote, said the deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Natig Mammadov. He noted that the number of voters increased by 50,000 people compared to the previous year.

Unified voters' list is specified and re-drawn in Azerbaijan. The CEC committee members and media representatives got acquainted with the new version of a unified list of voters on Wednesday.

Preparation of a new unified list of voters is implemented through the State Automated Information System, deputy chairman of CEC Natig Mammadov told reporters.

He said the voters' lists will be published within 10 - 15 days.

A permanent list of voters is prepared by election commissions each year in January and is transmitted to the district election commission up to February 5.

DECs made a list of voters on electoral districts to April 5 and handed them over to the Central Election Commission. The list of voters has been made again by Central Election Commission with help of the state automated information system.

Appropriate local structures of ministries of Interior and Justice, local authorities and municipalities were involved in drawing up a new unified voters' list?

Commission members and media representatives got acquainted with the process of printing the voter lists, which will be returned to the electoral commissions after the specification.
