Brussels to host Azerbaijan-NATO PARP assessment meeting

zerbaijan and NATO will hold an assessment meeting within the framework of the Partnership for Peace Planning and Review Process (PARP) in Brussels on June 12, 2012, press service of the Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry told APA.

28+1 meeting to be held in NATO Headquarters will focus attention on the assessment of work done by Azerbaijan within the Partnership Action Plan (PAP). The assessment process was held in April, 2012.

Azerbaijani delegation led by the head of international defense cooperation department of the Defense Ministry, Major-General Ramiz Najafov will attend the meeting.

Azerbaijan accepted 44 Partnership Goals (PGs) within PAP and 31 of them are related to the Armed Forces (18 – general, 7 – ground troops, 2- naval forces, 4- air forces). According to PAP document, for participation in NATO peacemaking operations, Azerbaijan established a peacekeeping division, search-rescue brigade, medical brigade, field engineering brigade and helicopters group.
