'Azerbaijan gets more profit from sale of oil and gas'

For almost 30 years, Azerbaijan will receive 160 billion US dollars from its energy projects, the Croatian Television’s “Hrvatska radiotelevizija” report dedicated to Azerbaijan says.

“While some European countries suffer from economic crisis, Azerbaijan gets more profit from the sale of oil and gas, and therefore can afford to host Eurovision song contest," the report says.

The report provides information about the history of Azerbaijani oil industry, the energy potential and modern pipeline infrastructure. The report features Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and vice-president of SOCAR Elshad Nasirov.

The authors note that Azerbaijan became the first Muslim democratic state in 1918 adding that "the first opera and ballet in the Muslim East were performed in Baku.
