Azerbaijani Republic Day marked in Toronto

To celebrate the 94th anniversary since the establishment of the Azerbaijani Democratic Republic (ADR) Azerbaijani Student Association at the University of Toronto (AzSA) and newly established Azerbaijani Youth of Canada Network (AYCN) co-organized “The Republic Day in Toronto” flag-raising event at the Toronto City Hall on May 27.

The flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan was raised with the members of the Canadian-Azerbaijan community.

In the speech addressed to the attendees the president of AYCN Iskandar Gadirzade talked about the history and achievements of ADR in the beginning of the last century.
He also mentioned Mammad Amin Rasulzade, Fatali khan Khoyski, Nasib Yusifbayli, Aliagha Shikhlinski, Samad bay Mehmandarov`s role in establishment of the Azerbaijani Democratic Republic.
