
The republic day of Azerbaijan-28 May was celebrated in foreign countries.
Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Czech Republic organized an event to mark 28 May- Republic Day.
The event was attended by First Lady of the Czech Republic Livia Klausová, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg, Vice - President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Alena Gajd?šková, members of the Czech-Azerbaijani inter-parliamentary friendship group, deputy ministers and others.
Ambassador Tahir Tagizade recalled the reciprocal visits of Azerbaijan and Czech presidents.
Touching upon the successful development of bilateral cooperation between the countries, Tahir Tagizade provided information on Azerbaijan`s foreign policy.
Livia Klausová extended congratulations of Czech President Vaclav Klaus to Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev.
The event featured performance of Azerbaijani music and demonstration of the national cuisine.
***Azerbaijani representative at the Council of Europe held an official reception on occasion of the Republic Day in "House of Europe"in Strasbourg, France.
The reception brought together officials of the Council of Europe, Secretary of the Venice Commission, employees of diplomatic corps accredited to the country in Strasburg, representative of local authorities, journalists and Azerbaijanis living there.
The ceremony demonstrated photo stand and video on Azerbaijan.
***Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles organized an official reception on the Republic Day and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and US.
The event attended by representatives from California, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, officials of Los Angeles, general consuls of different countries, journalists and others.
Azerbaijani Consul General in Los Angeles Nasimi Agayev provided information on 28 May-the Republic Day. Touching upon the US-Azerbaijan relations, he stressed strong strategy partnership and friendship relations between the two countries.
The reception featured a concert.
