President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva attend reception on Republic Day - UPDATE - PHOTOS

An official reception arranged on the occasion of anniversary of the Republic Day – May 28 took place today at the capital’s Buta Palace.  President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and the family members participated at the reception.

After the head of state was cheered and state anthem performed, President Ilham Aliyev addressed the participators.

Then, the State Awards of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the field of science for 2012 were presented.

Yagub Mahmudov, Karim Shukurov, Tofig Mustafazade, Suleyman Mammadov, Guntakin Najafli, Nazim Mustafayev, Govhar Mammadova, Haji Hasanov, Israfil Suleyman, Vidadi Umudlu, Saida Hajiyeva, Irada Mammadova and Nigar Gozalova were presented State Awards for their works on the history of Karabakh, Nakhchivan and Irevan khanates.
