
The Azerbaijan`s embassy in Kuwait has arranged a series of events to mark the Republic Day of Azerbaijan – May 28, on Wednesday.
The event was attended by 350 participants, including members of the ruling home of Kuwait, representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers and Parliament, well-known public figures, representatives of various diplomatic missions and mass media, businessmen and Azerbaijanis living and working here.
Among honorary guests were Naif Falah Al-Hajraf , the Minister of Higher Education, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of the State of Kuwait, as well as deputy minister of the ministry of information, deputy minister of Kuwaiti Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, deputy chairman of the State Committee on youth and sport, deputy chairman of the women affairs committee in Kuwait, also authorities figures of family of the judge Al-Sabah, including Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah, Sheika Fariha Al-Sabah and Sheikh Talal Al-Sabah.
The participants saw documentaries featuring Azerbaijan`s culture, history, grandiose architecture, mysterious nature, foreign policy and economy, as well as relations between the two countries.
As a part of the events, “Azerbaijan`s day” was also marked at the school named after poet Ahmad Al-Saggaf. Pupils of the school were briefly informed about Azerbaijan and viewed the exhibition.
A wide speech of the Azerbaijani envoy Tural Rzayev about Azerbaijan`s Republic Day was published at Al Anba Newspaper - Daily Arabic Kuwaiti newspaper.
Azerbaijan`s ambassador to the country Tural Rzayev spoke in his interview about establishment of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) as well as reforms being implemented in the country, large-scale agreements, country`s parliament and Armenian aggression.
He said national leader Heydar Aliyev made a great contribution to strengthening Azerbaijan-Kuwait relations, adding President Ilham Aliyev successfully continues this policy. He also made a speech about Great Leader Heydar Aliyev`s incomparable historical services for Azerbaijani people and state. Kuwait television channel 1 and 2 (KTV2 and KTV1), as well as Al Rai television broadcasted a documentary about Azerbaijan`s Republic Day.
The Republic of Azerbaijan and the State of Kuwait established diplomatic relations on October 10, 1994 with opening of Azerbaijani embassy in Al-Kuwait in 2004 and opening of Kuwait`s embassy in Baku in 2006.
