Azerbaijan, Romania eye cooperation between diasporas

Members of the Azerbaijan-Romania Youth and Cultural Association have met Chairman of the Federation of Romanian Associations of Europe Daniel Tecu.

They discussed the activity of the two countries` diaspora organizations, and hailed friendly relations between Romania and Azerbaijan.

Chairman of Azerbaijan-Romania Youth and Cultural Association Igbal Hajiyev highlighted the association`s cooperation with other institutions. He pointed out to prospects for joint projects and further cooperation between Romanian and Azerbaijani organizations.

Daniel Tecu said that Azerbaijan was a friend and strategic partner of Romania, describing the mutual support of the two countries within international organizations as a result of “these strong ties”.

The deputy chairman of the Azerbaijani Association Orkhan Mammadov underlined that close relations had been established between the Azerbaijani and Romanian youth.

Hajiyev handed over books on Azerbaijan`s culture, history and economy, and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation-produced CDs on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to Tecu.
The parties agreed to sign a memorandum on increasing efforts towards deepening relations between the diaspora organizations of Azerbaijan and Romania.
