Azerbaijan`s President accepts Uzbek ambassador 's credentials - UPDATE - PHOTOS

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received the credentials of new Uzbek ambassador Sherzod Fayziyev. The ambassador presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then the Azerbaijani President made conversation with the ambassador. Fayziyev extended President Islam Karimov`s best wishes to the Azerbaijani leader.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed satisfaction with development of relationship between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. The Head of State said Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, which marked the 20th anniversary of their state independence last year, had achieved great accomplishments over these years.

President Ilham Aliyev recalled his visits to Uzbekistan, underlined the importance of good relations between the two countries` presidents in development of bilateral ties.

The President expressed hope that the new ambassador would contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries at a time when economic projects can be realized.

For his part, Fayziyev praised the current level of relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. The diplomat noted presidents of the two countries had sincere relations. President Ilham Aliyev asked the ambassador to deliver his best wishes to President Islam Karimov, as well.
