'Iran will to clarify issue on detention of Azerbaijani citizens soon'

“Iran promised to clarify the issue on detention of Azerbaijani citizens in Tabriz”, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Elman Abdullayev told APA.

According to him, Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Tabriz met local authorities and representatives of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tabriz and brought the request of the Azerbaijani side to their attention to control the issue on detention of two Azerbaijani citizens in Tabriz: “Iranian side promised to give official response this week.”

According to the Azerbaijan’s mass media two young Azerbaijani poets Shahriyar del Gerani (Hajizadeh) and Farid Hussein, who visited Iran, were arrested in Tabriz.
