No Azerbaijanis among victims of terrorist attacks in Damascus

There is no Azerbaijani citizen among those dead and injured as a result of terrorist attacks that occurred today in Damascus, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Syria Mahir Aliyev told Trend on Thursday.

"Dozens of people" became victims of terrorist attacks that took place in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Thursday, Syrian TV channel "Surya" reported.

According to the TV channel, the majority of victims are civilians. Information on the number of victims is being specified, RIA Novosti reported.

Two strong explosions followed by shooting took place on Thursday morning near the highway leading to Damascus International Airport.

Today there are about 30 students studying in religious schools, at the consular register at the Embassy. Citizens temporarily working in this country have returned to their homeland, as the term of their contracts expired.
