Budapest marks 89th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev

Azerbaijan`s embassy in Hungary has organized an event at the Eotvos Lorand University`s (ELTE) central library to mark the 89th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

An exhibition featuring books and albums on outstanding state figure Heydar Aliyev`s life and career, development of modern Azerbaijan was held as part of the event.

Ambassador Vilayat Guliyev spoke of national leader Heydar Aliyev`s contributions to strengthening Azerbaijan`s statehood and developing science, education and culture in the country. He said the publications displayed at the exhibition were presented to the ELTE`s library. Participants proposed establishing Azerbaijan and Heydar Aliyev sections at the library.

Director of ELTE`s library Laszlo Sogi pointed out that Hungary has a great interest in Azerbaijan as part of the Turkic world. He said the donated books will create opportunity for the scientists and university students to become more familiar with Azerbaijan. Sogi said they were ready to implement the book exchange with Azerbaijan`s universities, in particular with the Baku State University.
