Shusha occupation marked in Morocco

The Azerbaijani embassy in Morocco held a commemoration ceremony to mark the 20th anniversary of occupation of Shusha town by Armenian armed forces. The event brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, members of Morocco-Azerbaijan Friendship Society.

Azerbaijani ambassador Agabayov told of Shusha – one of the most beautiful towns of Azerbaijan, its history and geography. He said Armenian armed forces occupied Shusha on May 8 1992.

The ambassador stressed importance of the executive order signed by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the 20th anniversary of occupation of the town of Shusha by the Armenian armed forces.

The ambassador told of efforts of Azerbaijani leadership in peaceful resolution of Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict. He said in 1993, the UN Security Council in the resolutions N 822, 853, 874 and 884 unambiguously reaffirmed the sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders of Azerbaijan and claimed to immediately and unconditionally withdraw the armed forces of Armenia from Azerbaijan`s occupied territories.
The participants saw the photo stand reflecting the massacres committed by Armenians against the Azerbaijani people.

The information bulletins on the 20th anniversary of occupation of Shusha town by Armenian armed forces were disseminated among the Foreign Ministry of Morocco, representatives of the diplomatic corps and the international organizations.
