US Azerbaijani community backs Morningstar's candidacy as ambassador to Baku

US Azeris Network – USAN welcomes the decision by President Barack Obama to nominate Richard Morningstar as US ambassador to Azerbaijan, a statement from USAN said.

"Our organization supports the soonest performance of all formalities and approval of this candidacy by the US Senate”, it stressed.

According to statement of USAN, Mr. Morningstar is a very experienced and senior politician, who knows not only Azerbaijan, but also the entire Caspian region.

"His appointment is a sign that Azerbaijan is a very important country for the United States", the statement says, adding that the US-Azerbaijani relations have recently received a new impetus for further development.

"We, as the Azerbaijanis living in the United States, will make every effort to promote the development of relations between our countries", the statement underlined.
