Azerbaijan to eye science draft law

A draft law on science policy will be discussed in parliament in Azerbaijan next week.

Draft law On Science Policy will be discussed at the parliamentary committee on science and education, Committee Chairman Shamseddin Hajiyev told Trend.

Hajiyev noted that the draft law is ready from a conceptual point of view and can be adopted at first reading the spring session of Azerbaijani Parliament.

The draft law establishes the goals and principles of state policy in the sphere of scientific activity, the mechanism of stimulation of scientific activities, rights and responsibilities of researchers, management and coordination of science, a new mechanism of financing
of science, the promotion of innovation, the creation of scientific schools, etc.

The law is aimed at the realization of intellectual potential of individuals and the implementation of purposeful activity for their scientific achievements.
