UN, Azerbaijan mull further deepening cooperation

Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the UN Agshin Mehdiyev and Secretary General Ban Ki-moon held a bilateral meeting, the permanent representation told Trend on Wednesday.

During the meeting the sides exchanged views on the beginning of the presidency of Azerbaijan in the UN Security Council in May this year, strengthening the fight against terrorism and the maintenance of international peace and security, as well as activities undertaken by the state for these destinations.

Also, they discussed possibilities of further deepening cooperation with the organization, the situation in the South Caucasus and a number of other issues.
