Azerbaijan, Israel eye legal framework

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has held a meeting with Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, who is on an official visit in Azerbaijan.

The sides noted at the meeting that in a number of areas the relations between the two countries are successfully developing, the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said on Monday.

Lieberman said that the economic development of Azerbaijan is in full view of everyone, and noted the importance of expanding ties between the two countries in various fields.

During the meeting the parties also noted the need to expand the legal framework between the two states.

Israeli Foreign Minister expressed his satisfaction over the election of Azerbaijan to the UN Security Council and noted the importance of deepening cooperation within international organizations.

Mammadyarov informed the Israeli counterpart about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the steps taken to resolve the conflict peacefully.

The sides exchanged views on various issues of mutual interest.
