Azerbaijan, Australia eye prospects of coop

Azerbaijan`s Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov has paid a visit to Australia. During the visit Khalafov held meetings with Head of Construction and Facilities at Sydney Airport Corporation Limited John Dardano, General Manager for Growth and Emerging Markets at Australian Trade Commission Dave Landers, Secretary of Department of Infrastructure and Transport Mike Mrdak, Representative of the Ministry for Resources and Energy and Tourism Martin John Ferguson, leadership of the Worley Parsons Resources and Energy Company and Australian National University Centre for European Studies.

The meetings saw Khalafov discuss a range of issues, including prospects for development of Azerbaijan-Australia relations, mutual investment, energy cooperation, the launch of direct flights between the two countries, and the opening of Azerbaijan`s embassy in Australia Australia`s diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan.

The sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues, and stressed the importance of expanding cooperation within international organizations.
