Afghan official meets Azerbaijani envoy

Speaker of the Afghan National Assembly, Alhaj Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi has met Azerbaijani ambassador to Pakistan with concurrent accreditation to Afghanistan Dashgin Shikarov.
The ambassador briefed the speaker on his country`s successful domestic and foreign policy, economic reforms, strategic projects, as well as Armenia`s aggressive policy against Azerbaijan and Khojaly genocide.

The diplomat also spoke of the humanitarian projects implemented on the initiative of Azerbaijan`s First Lady, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mehriban Aliyeva in Azerbaijan and abroad. He particularly underlined the aid provided by the Foundation to the children`s home “Avicenna” in Kabul.

Speaker of the Afghan National Assembly, in turn spoke of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Afghanistan. He thanked the Azerbaijani government for the support to Afghanistan in its hard times.

Alhaj Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi said his country supports Azerbaijan`s just position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The speaker noted he is of Turkish origin and always stands by his Azerbaijani brothers.
