Afghanistan hails Azerbaijan's help

The government of Afghanistan appreciates the help of Azerbaijan at a difficult time for the country, chairman of the National Assembly of Afghanistan Abdul Rauf Ibrahim said at a meeting with Azerbaijani Ambassador to Afghanistan, Dashgin Shikarov, based in Pakistan.

The Ambassador informed the chairman of the National Assembly of Afghanistan about the successful internal and external policies held in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the economic reforms, the on-going strategic and regional projects, the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan and Khojaly genocide, the embassy said.

Shikarov also spoke in detail about the projects implemented in various countries by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, headed by the First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, and noted humanitarian and financial assistance provided by the Fund to the orphanage of Avicenna in Kabul.

Chairman of the National Assembly of Afghanistan highlighted the establishment of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, an organisation of mutual visits. Touching upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Abdul Rauf Ibrahim stressed unequivocal support of the Azerbaijani position on this issue.
