Ukraine`s top official meets with Ukrainian community in Azerbaijan

Chairman of Ukraine`s Supreme Rada Vladimir Litvin met with representatives of the Ukrainian community in Azerbaijan near the monument to Taras Shevchenko. The guest was accompanied by Vice-speaker of Azerbaijan Ziyafat Asgarov, Ukrainian ambassador to Azerbaijan Alexander Mishenko, Azerbaijani ambassador to Ukraine Eynulla Madatli and MPs.

Mr. Litvin laid a wreath at the monument. Chairman of the Ukrainian community Alexander Zarechny and chairman of Ukrainians Congress of Azerbaijan Igor Yakovenko told of activity of the community. They said the Ukrainians as other nations of Azerbaijan are full members of the country and live in peace and harmony. The monument to Taras Shevchenko was opened in Baku in 2008.
