German newspaper says “Azerbaijan–“tiger of Caucasus”

The German newspaper “Märkische Oderzeitung“ published an article entitled “Azerbaijan, tiger of Caucasus, moves to center of economic interests of Germany.”

The article says: “Ministries of foreign affairs of two countries agreed to open the German Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan. The economic interests of Germany in Azerbaijan are linked with rapid development of the country, in particular in the field of construction. Head of the German-Azerbaijani Business Association (DAWF) Florian Schroder underlined Azerbaijan is a young state with its big plans and projects. It is necessary to study international experience to realize these projects. The economy has increased by 500 percent since 2005. Azerbaijan is the largest investor in Georgia and the “tiger of Caucasus”.

“Azerbaijan`s economic development is also observed in rapid and up-to-date construction works being carried out in the capital Baku and the regions. The Eurovision Song Contest 2012 will take place in Baku. Besides, Azerbaijan bid for Olympic Games 2020 and is going jointly with Georgia to claim for conducting of the European football championship. Germany with turnover in € 644 million ranks 3rd among the trade partners of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan exports from Germany the large number of goods.
