
Azerbaijan and Georgia should increase the number of customs control points at the border, head of the Georgian International Relations Department at the Customs Service Samson Uridia told Trend on Thursday.
He said to increase the volume of transport traffic between the two countries it's necessary to increase the number of points of customs control and take a number of other measures.
"Since we have a transit area and there is a very promising transit corridor with Azerbaijan and Turkey, we must do everything to facilitate the expansion of trade and traffic flows. And I would like to emphasize the important role of Azerbaijan in this," said Uridia.
He noted the parties should work to expand the existing capabilities, simplify and speed up customs procedures on the Azerbaijani-Georgian border.
