President Ilham Aliyev receives new Brazilian ambassador - UPDATE - PHOTOS

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today accepted credentials of new ambassador of Brazil Sergio De Souza Fontes Arruda.

Following the ceremony President Ilham Aliyev and the Brazilian ambassador had a meeting.
The Head of State underlined the existence of mutual interest in expansion of bilateral ties and development of partner relations between Azerbaijan and Brazil. President Ilham Aliyev said the cooperation between the two countries entered a new stage, and pointed out to the importance of expanding political ties and strengthening economic cooperation. The Head of State expressed hope that the two countries will support each other within international organizations. President Ilham Aliyev wished the Ambassador successes in his future activity.

Sergio De Souza highlighted the importance of reciprocal visits in terms of expanding the bilateral relationship. The Ambassador said Brazil was interested in boosting cooperation with Azerbaijan, and underlined the importance of Azerbaijan`s participation in a number of international events, which will be held in Brazil. The diplomat stressed he would spare no efforts towards deepening bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and Brazil during his tenure.
