Azerbaijan's First Lady awarded interstate prize ‘Stars of Commonwealth’

Azerbaijani First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, Mehriban Aliyeva has been awarded the Interstate Prize "Stars of the Commonwealth" for humanitarian activity, ITAR-TASS reported on Tuesday with reference to the Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation of the CIS (IFESCCO).

The "Stars of Commonwealth" award was established in 2009 by the Council for Humanitarian Cooperation of the Member States of the CIS and IFESCCO. It is awarded annually for major contributions and achievements in science and education, art and culture, humanitarian activities, which correspond to the level of world achievements and promote humanitarian cooperation of the Commonwealth members.

Solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the Interstate Award "Stars of the Commonwealth" will be held at the Russian State Library Pashkov House in Moscow on April 13.

Others winners include head of the Bakulev Scientific Center of Cardiovascular Surgery Leo Bokeria, Culture and Sport Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ibrahim Dzhunusov and director of M.Auezov Institute of Literature and Art Seit Kaskabasov.
