Bill ‘On political parties’ to be mulled

A bill 'On political parties' will be submitted to the Azerbaijani parliament for discussion on Tuesday, April 10.

It will be debated in the parliamentary committee on legal policy and state building, the parliament told Trend on Monday.

The current law 'On political parties' was adopted in 1992. The current one along with other significant changes provides for the funding of parties from the state budget. In addition, according to the bill which was discussed by the Venice Commission, it will be necessary to collect at least 5000 signatures to create a political party.
