'Metsamor NPP is threat to region'

Issue of Metsamor NPP's threat to the region was raised at a plenary meeting of Euronest PA in Baku. Metsamor NPP operating in Armenia is a threat to the region, a member of the Azerbaijani delegation, MP Faraj Guliyev said at the meeting on Tuesday.

"We're talking about the environment in the frame of Euronest. Metsamor NPP operating in Armenia is a threat to the region" Guliyev said. Options for changing principle of operation of the Metsamor NPP are discussed, the head of the Armenian delegation Vahan Hovhannisyan said in response.

"We try to make this station work in the regime of environmental safety," he added.
It isn't right to blame the country located in blockade on this issue, the Armenian MP added.
The second session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Euronest opened in Baku on Monday. Meetings of standing committees, the working group on Belarus, as well as the plenary session is held during the session.

The EU delegation of 60 people, the national delegations of Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova and Armenia will participate in the meeting. There will be ten people from each country.
Euronest inter-parliamentary union includes Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
