'Vilnius to further make efforts to promote Karabakh peace process'

Lithuania is interested in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan in power engineering and in particular energy security, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Audronius Ažubalis said at a joint press conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov in Baku today.

"Negotiations on this issue are being conducted with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Baku," the Minister said.

Besides power engineering, Lithuania also plans to significantly expand economic and political cooperation with Azerbaijan, Azubalis said. The EU is a good platform for this, he added.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister expressed regret that all parties have failed to reach the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement during his country's presidency in the OSCE. He stressed that Vilnius will continue making efforts to promote the peace process.
