Nuclear safety summit kicks off

The Second Nuclear safety summit starts today in Seoul. The summit to be held under the chairmanship of Korean President is being attended by 53 countries and four international organizations.

After the official opening ceremony of the event, summit participants will discuss the progress, achieved after Washington summit in 2010.

Note that, main program of Seoul summit has been appointed on April 27. It is planned to hold two plenary meetings devoted to international cooperation issues for increasing of nuclear safety, including national events and future obligations.

At the end of the summit, Korean President Lee Myung-bak will hold press conference dedicated to the outcomes of meeting.
