Pakistani Leader to visit Baku

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan and attend Pakistani-Azerbaijani Business Forum to be held in Baku in April, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Pakistan Dashgin Shikarov told Trend on Friday.

"As is expected, a big jump in economic and trade relations with Azerbaijan is expected during the president's visit. Robust political and diplomatic relations between Islamabad and Baku will be translated into strong economic and commercial ties also," Shikarov said.

Over one hundred Pakistani entrepreneurs will accompany President Zardari. The Business Forum is held for the first time in about twenty year's diplomatic relations, he said.

"The Forum will give a tremendous fillip to trade and investment between both the friendly and brotherly states," Shikarov said. The government and the people of Azerbaijan are grateful to Pakistan for its support on Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
