A conference entitled “The Prospects of Azerbaijani-Turkish relations” has today started in the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAM).
The conference brings together members of the Turkish-Azerbaijani interparliamentary friendship group, deputies of the Milli Majlis, scientists, experts and representatives of mass media. Addressing the event, deputy chair of SAM Gulshan Pashyeva updated participants on the fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Gulshan Pashyeva underlined that Turkey was the first country to recognize Azerbaijan`s independence and Azerbaijan is interested in cooperation with its closest partner. “Abolishment of the bill criminalizing the denial of so-called Armenian genocide by the French Constitutional Council is the result of the both countries` efforts,” she added.
Ms. Pashyeva also highlighted the tremendous march under the motto of “All of us are from Khojaly” held in Taksim Square in Istanbul on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide.
